I was looking at Drudge Report this morning and saw right away a news story that raised a question in my mind as to its veracity. Could it be that even Drudge Report is publishing fake news and Matt Drudge is actually disseminating fake news proffered as real?
It’s been one of those mornings where a strong emphasis on the realization that trust in man is an exercise in futility and even a deadly thing. Several verses came to mind as I pondered these thoughts. On ‘fake news’ and the reality that everything man speaks in his own power has some aspect of imperfection or is simply ‘idle words’ brought to mind: “Let God be true and every man a liar.” And then on trusting man, “It is better to trust in God than to put confidence in men.”
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
Romans 3:4 KJVIt is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
Psalms 118:8 KJV
These considerations reminded me of the graphic I had on Daniel’s 70 week Messianic prophecy with the heading, ‘And He Shall Confirm the Covenant With Many. And so hopefully being led by the spirit, I added a caption to the image and shared it on Facebook with the following associated comment and question.

Did you think these verses were about some end-time world dictator who would be “the ANTICHRIST?” Think again. I believe Daniel’s 70 week Messianic prophecy is a ‘type of angel’ that is dividing the wheat from the tares.

Antichrist creates a covenant with the Jews?
